Welcome to my shop!

I’m Florent, a French musician who lives in Estonia. I handcraft musical instruments. Curious and a perfectionist, my designs are the result of my learning and experimentation, which I am happy to share.

By the way, helipuu means “sound tree” in estonian (heli = sound and puu = tree).

I work with natural and locally sourced materials: elm, apple, bird cherry, pine, birch, lilac, cherry plum, pear, spruce and juniper. More rarely bone or horn.

I use traditional natural products for finishes (oils, resins, pigments, etc.)

I have a background in classical music and have taught the violin for 25 years. I play traditional folk music for dancing. Furthermore, despite the raw aesthetic I like to give some of my instruments, I am particularly meticulous about their tuning and playability when playing in an ensemble.

Quality takes time, so I do not make large quantities. If you would like an instrument that is no longer in stock, feel free to contact me!
